Day 15 of 28: Weatherford, OK to Purcell, OK
113 miles, 6:58 in the saddle, 5,305 feet of climbing.
I rode with a mix of people today and enjoyed time with Norman, who heads back to Australia tonight—wishing him the best. 5 people have elected to do about half of the trip. We’ve had some crew changes too, with Nancy and Veronica leaving and Patrick and Brandt joining.
PAC Tour continues to amaze me—three vehicles, great food, and a team that makes this whole ride possible with riders at different levels. I’ll share more about them soon, but here’s what’s ahead: on Friday we’ll ride the Talimena Parkway, a 50-mile stretch some call the toughest cycling in America, with relentless 15% grades. The payoff? An unforgettable view from the historic Talimena Lodge. I am working hard to make it through this day without wrecking my knees—today went well with a lot of rolling hills—so far, so good!!
Another great day! Actually waiting to get a hair cut and go to Walmart for a few things. Enjoy your evening!
