Day 24 of 28: Camden, AL to Greenville, AL
49 miles | 3:15 in the saddle | 2,480 ft climbing
Our shortest day of the tour felt like a peaceful recovery ride even though there was a headwind all day. I rode mostly with the Vermont guys (Ben, Bob, Fred, Howard) and Jacki. We detoured through Pine Apple at about 20 miles in—you can feel history.
My highlight of the day was FaceTiming with Julie, Mikayla (our daughter in-law) and our grandsons after rolling in and taking a dip in the pool.
Only 4 days and about 400 miles remain. The weather has been beautiful overall, though rain and headwinds are forecast ahead. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve now raised enough funds for 36 wells—amazing progress—thank you!
Yoga, dinner, laundry and more recovery next!
