It is getting real…Just a great week!

Four weeks from today, I’ll be flying to California, ready to start my ride across America. This week made it feel real.

I logged 332 miles — including a gravel ride to Jerome (68 miles) to meet friends including Rev. Davidson Chifungo, visiting from Malawi, and a 117-mile spin which included Detroit with the R3 Cycling Club (nice people, great cyclists). My bike’s now sporting a new seat (actually three to rotate on the ride — my bum will appreciate it).

Off the bike, we launched the website — big thanks to Ninja Phil! — and I left our Kids Chance Board meeting feeling deeply supported. Our church service focused on mission and the many ways we’re called to serve. I shared what inspired me to take on this ride — and yes, I even rode my bike right through the sanctuary and the outdoor service! Afterward, I rode to a lifelong friend’s home to celebrate Wiggy’s 60th birthday—and John, Laura, Marc and my 60th coming up. Many blessings!

The countdown is on—looking forward to another awesome week!
