Fitted, Focused, Fueled and Moving Forward
I rode over 300 miles again this week and will be increasing mileage in the coming weeks before tapering a little just ahead of the ride. The highlight was a 150-mile solo ride to Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Lake Erie, along with steady miles in my go-to training spots—Lower Huron, Oakwoods, and Willow Metroparks. They’re close, safe, and scenic.
Another big win this week: I got refit on my bike at FitMi—Maxine is awesome—and added aero bars to my bike. They’ll make long solo stretches a little more comfortable and efficient.
I also continue to enjoy my Sunday rides home from church (40 miles yesterday, mostly gravel with less traffic)—always a good time to reflect and reset. I’m feeling strong, and both nutrition and recovery are going well. Looking forward to the website going live this week to start the fundraising for Marian Medical Mission and Kid’s Chance of Michigan.
This is the bike I’ll be riding across the country. This pic is at Lake Erie—kind of difficult to see the aero bars, been very helpful!
