Day 13 of 28: Amarillo, TX to Shamrock, TX
93 miles, 5 hours and 49 minutes in the saddle, and 1,562 feet of climbing.
The crosswinds kept us working, but it was a solid day and a good one for my knee, which continues to recover after the tough early climbing days.
We started out riding through heavy fog for the first two hours, which slowly gave way to a beautiful Texas day. I spent about three-quarters of the ride with Bob, Jacki, and Fred, and then finished up in the aero bars for the last stretch into Shamrock.
On a more serious note, one of our riders had to be hospitalized today due to an infection. Hoping and praying for his full recovery and quick return to the road.
Tomorrow, we roll into Oklahoma β another state line crossed and tonight, itβs time to cheer on the Lions!
