Day 19 of 28: Caddo Valley to Monticello, AR

98 miles, 6:02 in the saddle, 3,300 feet of climbing.

Rolled out with a big group, shared a stretch with Jose (our crew mechanic), and even caught a pull from the legendary Lon Haldeman alongside Bob and Lou for a fast segment (for me). Rode solo for another segment listening to the 1st Q of the Lions game (another win!) before the connection was lost and rode the last section with Jacki. We rode by Bear Bryant’s birthplace. Smooth roads, lack of traffic, sunshine and normal temperatures made it a beautiful day on the bike with soft crosswinds, a short headwind, and small rolling hills—I’m feeling stronger every day.

Grateful to roll in early for recovery, a nap, Walmart and dinner. Mississippi, here we come!
