Day 5 of 28: Wickenburg, Az to Cottonwood, Az

103 miles-8,471 feet of climbing-8.5 hours in the saddle.

The day started a little sideways—after breakfast I could not get back into my room because the lock to the door broke—was delayed to start by almost an hour, but was just happy to ride my bike in AZ. I rode solo the entire day, the climbs were grueling and the downhills made up for it—absolutely magnificent.

About 45 miles into the ride, I popped a spoke and within 1 mile the PAC SAG was there to switch out a rim for me—thank you Susan! PAC Tours are experienced and good at what they do. When I got back from the ride, Jose the mechanic, had already replaced the spoke for me.

The weather was perfect (except for a few headwinds), the scenery was beautiful and tonight’s massage was exactly what I needed. Another great day in the books.

Take a look at the pics below—and please check out the donation page for Marion Medical Mission and Kids Chance of Michigan…and what about those Lions!

Tomorrow will be almost 8,000 feet of climbing and 118 miles—all good!
